ABSTRACT

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to verify the degree of prediction as a diagnostic method of clinical photography on the Meschan angle instead of dorsoplantar radiograph: In addition, the present study try to assess the use of clinical photography in other podiatric areas such as risk foot and clinical podiatry.
Patients and methods: The study was composed of a total sample 14 feets (8 women and 6 men) that need a dorsoplantar X-ray. The measurement was made through the Kinovea® program both in radiography and in photography. In addition, data and variables of interest are collected to perform the statistical analysis performed by the STATA® version 14 program for Windows 10 and verify whether there was a correlation and statistical significance of both measuremenst.
Results: The analisis of the measurements showed that both varibles were 94.52 % similar and both variables were dependent, therefore we found statistical significance in the data analysis performed.
Conclusions: There was a correlation between the test carried out in photography and radiography, as were found in similar studies. In our study, the variations made were mostly accurate. However, the present study had a small sample size and it is necessary to increase the sample size in future research.
